TALACAUVERY TRAVEL INFORMATION : -

Talacauvery, the birthplace of the sacred river Cauvery. It is situated at 4,187 feet on the slopes of the Brahmagiri Hills. This place is marked with a Tirtha Kundike or the Brahma Kundike. This is the small pond or spring from where river Cauvery originates in the form of a small perennial spring. First, the river flows underground and then emerges above the ground over a short distance.
Festival : - Tula Sankramana is celebrated with great enthusiasm at Talacauvery. During this festival, the pilgrims visit this place to see the sudden gush of water from the Brahma kundike. The locals consider this phenomenon as very auspicious. The festival falls on the month of October.
