How To Reach Brahmagiri Hills ? :-

The Starting point is Thirunelli 124km from Kozhikode, 111km from Thalassery. By road you can go from Kozhikode-Kalpetta-Manathaavady-Kattikkulam-Thirunelli.
* Thalassery-Kuthuparamba-Nedumpoil-Manathavady-Kattikkulam-Thirunelli. By Rail: Near by railway stations is Thalassery. Nearby airport is Karippur & Kozhikode.

Trekking Route : Trekking from Thirunelli to Ambalappara is a 6 hour journey. Trekking path is adventurous that covers three forest ranges; Begur, Kottiyoor and Aralam. Vegatation ranged from hard rocky terrain and grassland to wet tropical evergreen climate forest and Shola forest. Halt at Ambalappara.
* From Ambalappara to Aralam, the route in more thrilling. 8 hours journey to the destination through thick forest bordering Karnataka and Kerala.

Best season to visit is December April.

Travel Information For Brahmagiri Hill Trekking :- Trekking from Thirunelli to Aralam Sanctuary via Ambalappara.
Where It Is? : Brahmagiri: is a mountain range in the western ghates with an average height of 1600-1800 meters. It is situated on the border between kodagu district (Karnataka) in the north and Wayanand and Kannur districts of Kerala on the south tourist attraction. To reach the peak, the base station is Gonikuppa near Virajpetta in Kodagu.

Information About Ambalappara: A rocky area in the middle of evergreen forest in Aralam wildlife Sanctuary and the highest point of the Sanctuary (1540 m). It is the most beautiful area of this sanctuary and the toughest to reach. A watch tower provides simple accommodation. Wildlife here is endemic to Western gates, include Elephant, Tiger, Sambar, Leopard, Wild gaur, dog, Fox etc. Ceylon Frogmouth, Hornbill, Emarald Doves, Shama, Crimson Barbet are some of the birds found here.
